folie-s-70-ribbon-cone-pendant-light-cream
Folie S/70 Ribbon Cone Pendant Light - Cream

Description

The Folie S/70 is a large pendant light with a shade of Cream Translucent Ribbon, pleated into fine vertical folds that glow a warm cream once the bulbs are on. A short cylinder sits on top of a wide cone, with a thin black ring at the join, and the structure is steel and aluminium in black. The shade is 86cm tall and 70cm across, and the pendant measures 236cm in height overall, including its 150cm cable. Inside, it takes five E27 bulbs of up to 15W each, which are sold separately; they are the light source, so choose bulbs to suit the mood you want in the room.

We see it hung over a long dining table, where the open base of the cone throws light down across the table while the pleated ribbon glows softly all around. It works just as well in a living room with a high ceiling, giving a large space one generous centre of light rather than several small ones. At 70cm across and 236cm overall, it wants room to breathe, so it suits a tall, open room better than a low or narrow one. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only, and it is made for indoor use.

The Folie design is by Christophe Mathieu, and its appeal lies in the contrast between the soft cream ribbon and the crisp black ring and structure. The structure is steel and aluminium, finished in black. It runs on 230V mains and must be wired in by a qualified electrician. The canopy at the ceiling is 14cm across and 2.7cm tall. As a practical note, measure your ceiling height before you order, so you can be sure the pendant hangs at the height you want over the table or seating.

Specification

Structure

Black

Shade

Cream Translucent Ribbon

Material

Steel & Aluminium

Canopy Diameter

14cm

Canopy Height

2.7cm

Cable Length

150cm

Shade Height

86cm

Height

236cm

Shade Diameter

70cm

Light Source

5 x E27 (bulbs not included)

Max Bulb Wattage

15W per bulb

Power

Mains, wired in by an electrician

Voltage

230V

IP Rating

IP20

Protection Class

Class I

Lead time

Made to order, usually delivered in 4 to 8 weeks

Frequently Asked

Does the Folie S/70 come with bulbs?

No. It takes five E27 bulbs of up to 15W each, and they are sold separately, so you will need all five before it lights.

How big is the Folie S/70 pendant?

The shade is 86cm tall and 70cm across, and the pendant measures 236cm in height overall, including its 150cm cable.

What is the Folie S/70 made from?

The structure is steel and aluminium in black, and the shade is a Cream Translucent Ribbon pleated into fine vertical folds that let the light glow through.

Can I use it in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only, such as a dining room or a living room.

How is the Folie S/70 installed?

It runs on 230V mains and is wired in, so it is for a qualified electrician to install at your ceiling point.

How long will it take to arrive?

It is made to order for you, so it is usually delivered in 4 to 8 weeks.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0729/8993/3835/files/01_lead_2bb9b8f2-1112-46c9-b38c-8c08ef22778f.jpg?v=1791325216
