flermanne-pendant-light-black-gold
Flermanne Pendant Light - Black & Gold

Description

The Flermanne pendant light is a faceted steel cage, black on the outside and gold on the inside. Angled panels meet at sharp points with open gaps between them, so the gold inner faces show through from almost every side and pick up the glow of the bulb. It measures 31cm across and up to 110cm in overall height. It hangs from a slim black cord beneath a round black ceiling canopy. It takes one E27 bulb of up to 60W, which is not included. It is rated IP20, which settles where it goes: indoors, in a dry room.

We would hang it over a dining table, a desk in a study or a studio worktable, where it gives the room a strong focal point with a loft or industrial feel. The black exterior keeps the outline crisp against pale walls and ceilings, while the gold lining adds warmth whenever the bulb is lit. It sits just as well in a living room, a hallway with enough height or an open-plan space with exposed beams. Because the fitting has no switch of its own, it simply works from the wall switch you already have. A clear filament bulb suits the open cage well, since the bulb is part of the look.

The body is steel, a material that holds its shape well, so the facets stay sharp and true. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains and, as a wired-in ceiling light, is installed by a qualified electrician. The installation instructions come as a PDF download, and the packed weight is 2.044KG. When you choose a bulb, pick an E27 cap of no more than 60W.

Specification

Overall Height

110cm

Diameter

31cm

Body Material

Steel

Body Colour

Black, gold

Light Source

E27 (bulb not included)

Wattage

Max 60W

Switch

None (switched at the wall)

IP Rating

IP20

Protection Class

Class II

Voltage

220-240V, 50/60Hz

Weight (packed)

2.044KG

Downloads

Installation Instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

Can I hang this pendant light in a bathroom or outdoors?

No. It is rated IP20, which means it belongs indoors in a dry room, such as a dining room, living room, study or hallway, well away from water.

Which bulb does it take?

It takes one E27 bulb of up to 60W.
