flenane-cage-ceiling-light-43cm-sand
Flenane Cage Ceiling Light 43cm - Sand

Description

This Flenane ceiling light sits flush to the ceiling, with a domed cage of curved steel slats in a soft sand colour that pairs comfortably with warm neutrals and pale woods. It measures 43cm across and 18cm high, so it makes a generous shape overhead while keeping close to the ceiling. A single E27 lampholder sits at the centre of the cage and takes a bulb of up to 40W; the bulb is not included, which leaves the choice of colour temperature and style entirely yours. It is rated IP20, which means it belongs indoors in dry rooms.

Because it sits flush rather than hanging, it suits rooms where a pendant would crowd the space, such as a living room with a modest ceiling height, a bedroom or a hallway. The slats are openly spaced, so the bulb stays on view through the cage, and a decorative filament bulb makes the most of that. Light passes out between the slats, giving a room a softer, more textured feel than a plain shade would. We think it suits anyone after a relaxed, natural look who would rather not give up headroom.

Steel is strong and holds its shape well, which makes it a sound choice for a slatted cage like this one. The light has no switch of its own; it is switched at the wall, so it runs from the light switch you already use. It is a wired-in mains light, so we recommend that a qualified electrician installs it, and the installation instructions come as a download. Packed, it weighs 1.953KG, a manageable weight to lift into place. Fit an E27 bulb of no more than 40W and it is ready to light the room.

Specification

Height

18cm

Diameter

43cm

Body Material

Steel

Body Colour

Sandy

Light Source

E27 (bulb not included)

Wattage

Max 40W

Switch

None (switched at the wall)

IP Rating

IP20

Protection Class

Class II

Voltage

220-240V, 50/60Hz

Weight (packed)

1.953KG

Downloads

Installation Instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

Can this ceiling light go in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, which means it is meant for dry indoor rooms only, so we would keep it out of bathrooms and away from water.

What bulb does the Flenane ceiling light take?

It takes a single E27 bulb of up to 40W.
