firbora-smoked-glass-pendant-light-18cm-black
Firbora Smoked Glass Pendant Light 18cm - Black

Description

Firbora is a single pendant light with an oval shade of smoked glass hanging from a slim black cord. The body is black steel, from the ceiling canopy to the slender holder above the shade, and the glass reads as a see-through charcoal grey that deepens at the curved edges. The shade is 18cm across, and from the ceiling to the bottom of the glass the light measures 110cm overall. It takes an E27 bulb of up to 40W, which is not included, so the choice of bulb is yours. Its IP20 rating settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms.

Hung on its own, Firbora gives a reading chair or a side table a soft glow and a shape worth a second look even when the bulb is not lit. The compact shade suits smaller spaces such as a hallway, a landing or a bedroom, while a pair or a row over a dining table or breakfast bar keeps the look light rather than heavy. Smoked glass and black detailing sit comfortably against dark walls and brass accents, and are just as at home with white plaster and pale wood. With no switch on the fitting, it runs from your existing wall switch, so the cord stays clean and uncluttered.

Smoked glass tints the light that passes through it and takes the edge off glare, so the shade glows rather than dazzles. With a maximum of 40W, you can pick a clear decorative bulb that shows through the glass or something plainer. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains and, as it is wired in at the ceiling, it is installed by a qualified electrician; the installation instructions are available as a download. It weighs 0.824KG packed, so it is light and easy to handle on fitting day. Glass wipes clean with a soft, dry cloth, and a quick dust keeps the shade looking its best.

Specification

Overall Height

110cm

Diameter

18cm

Body Material

Steel

Body Colour

Black

Shade Material

Smoked glass

Shade Colour

Black-transparent

Light Source

E27 (bulb not included)

Wattage

Max 40W

Switch

None (switched at the wall)

IP Rating

IP20

Protection Class

Class II

Voltage

220-240V, 50/60Hz

Weight (packed)

0.824KG

Downloads

Installation Instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

Can I hang the Firbora pendant in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, which means it is made for indoor, dry rooms, so we would keep it away from bathrooms and anywhere damp.

Which bulb does it take?

It takes a standard E27 bulb of up to 40W.
