feast-stoneware-christmas-candle-holder-red
Feast Stoneware Christmas Candle Holder - Red

Description

This little nutcracker is a candle holder made entirely of stoneware, standing 9cm tall and 7cm across. His tall hat is open at the top to take a single candle, so the candle rises straight out of his hat. The figure is modelled in relief, with a painted crown band, a full moustache and beard, a frogged jacket front, a belt with a buckle and a pair of shiny boots, his hair falling to his shoulders. At 0.16KG he is light enough to move from shelf to table without a second thought, and his red jacket carries the whole piece.

He is made for the Christmas season, and he is at his best somewhere he can be seen up close. Stand him on a windowsill, a mantelpiece or a side table, where his size lets him sit among other decorations without crowding them. At 9cm tall he fits the small spots that larger candlesticks cannot: a hallway console, a dressing table, the corner of a desk. He makes a cheerful gift for anyone who loves nutcrackers or a traditional Christmas, and lined up along a mantelpiece, several look like a little guard on parade. Unlit, he still works as a decoration in his own right.

Stoneware is fired at a high temperature into a hard, dense body, which suits a piece that is packed away each January and brought out again each December. A glossy glaze sits over the painted details, so the jacket, the boots and the moustache catch the light from his own candle and from the lamps around him. The opening is part of the hat itself rather than a separate cup, which keeps the outline neat. The candle and the other styling props shown are not included. For the best look, choose a slim taper in a soft, muted shade so his red jacket stays the brightest thing on the shelf.

Specification

Height

9cm

Diameter

7cm

Material

100% Stoneware

Colour

Red

Weight

0.16KG

Frequently Asked

What is this nutcracker candle holder made of?

It is made of 100% stoneware, finished with a glossy glaze over the painted nutcracker details, from the crown band on his hat down to his boots.

How big is it?

It is 9cm tall and 7cm across and weighs 0.16KG, so it sits comfortably on a windowsill, a narrow shelf or a mantelpiece.

Does it come with a candle?

No. The candle and the other styling props shown are not included, so you can choose a candle of your own to suit the room.

What sort of candle does it hold?

The opening at the top of his hat takes a single candle, and a slim taper suits his proportions.
