Used alone it suits a hallway, an alcove or the wall beside a reading chair. There is no switch on the body, so it runs from the wall switch that serves it, and it will dim if you pair a suitable lamp with a suitable dimmer. Both are chosen separately, and 10W is the ceiling for the lamp.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eGlass and metal throughout, with the brass given an antique sheen that softens the light bouncing off it rather than firing it back. For cleaning, let the fitting cool, then take the dust off the glass with a dry lint-free cloth; keep metal polish and sprays away from the brass, as they will dull the finish over time. Keep it to dry rooms indoors, on a normal household supply. It carries a one year warranty.
