egele-ceramic-vase-38-5cm-light-green
Egele Ceramic Vase 38.5cm - Light Green

Description

The Egele is a tall ceramic vase in a light green glaze, standing 38.5cm high with a diameter of 22.5cm. Deep vertical ribs run from the foot to the mouth, and the body swells gently through the middle before drawing in towards the top and the base, so the outline recalls a cactus or a closed bud. The opening finishes in a wavy, scalloped rim, and the glaze has a glossy surface with fine golden speckles and soft shifts of tone across its sage-green ground. Inside, the neck shows a darker, earthy colour that makes a pleasing contrast with the green exterior.

We would place it indoors on a sideboard, a console table, a hallway shelf or a deep windowsill, anywhere one tall piece can stand clear of clutter. The muted green sits comfortably with natural wood, linen, white walls and warm brass, and it looks as at home in a calm, pared-back room as among a crowd of houseplants. At this height it carries dried stems, pampas grass or a few long branches well, and left empty it still works as a sculptural object in its own right. Set as a pair at either end of a mantelpiece, it gives a room an easy sense of balance.

Ceramic is a hard, dense material, and here the ribs belong to the body of the vase itself, so the shape does the decorating rather than any printed pattern. The glossy glaze reflects light along each ridge, which brings the form to life as daylight moves around a room. It weighs 3.11KG, so it has a reassuring heft and sits steadily when tall stems lean against the rim. Give it a level, sturdy surface indoors, and it will reward you every time you pass it.

Specification

Colour

Green

Material

Ceramic

Height

38.5cm

Diameter

22.5cm

Weight

3.11KG

Frequently Asked

How tall is the Egele vase?

It stands 38.5cm tall with a diameter of 22.5cm, a good height for a sideboard, console table or deep windowsill.

What material is the vase?

The vase is ceramic, finished in a glossy light green glaze with fine golden speckles and soft shifts of tone.

How heavy is the vase?

It weighs 3.11KG, which gives it enough heft to sit steadily when tall dried stems or branches lean against the rim.

Can the vase go outdoors?

We recommend keeping it indoors, where it suits a sideboard, mantelpiece, hallway shelf or windowsill in a living room or bedroom.

What shade of green is it?

It is a muted light sage green with a glossy surface, so it pairs easily with natural wood, linen, white walls and warm brass.

What should I put in the vase?

Its height suits dried stems, pampas grass or a few long branches, and it also looks complete standing empty as a sculptural piece.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0729/8993/3835/files/egele-ceramic-vase-38-5cm-light-green.jpg?v=1792466963
