The glaze is white and covers the inside, then rolls over the rim and finishes in a band on the outer edge, so the bowl reads white from above and terracotta from the side. The wall curves out from a small flat foot into an open bowl with no lip to it.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAt 16.1cm across and 6.2cm deep this takes cereal, yoghurt, a dessert or a small portion of soup. It stacks, three one inside another, the terracotta foot of each showing against the white of the one below. It is dishwasher safe, microwave safe and food safe.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe clay is terracotta and the body is stoneware. Two layers of glaze go on across the rim and the base, in a mix adjusted to react in the kiln, so the tone and the texture shift from bowl to bowl and nothing comes out of the firing quite like the piece beside it.
