dachsy-dog-stoneware-candle-holder-multi
Dachsy Dog Stoneware Candle Holder - Multi

Description

Our Dachsy candle holder is a seated dachshund in stoneware, sitting proud beside the tall tube that holds your candle. It is a small, cheerful piece, 7.5cm long, 8.5cm wide and 12cm tall, and it weighs 0.32KG, light enough to move from shelf to table whenever the mood takes you. The dog wears dots over its body and head, the tube carries painted stripes, and a wavy, scalloped fin runs up its back edge, so the whole thing reads as a little sculpture as much as a candle holder. The finish is multicoloured and painted by hand, and you can see the brushwork in every dot.

It takes a slim dinner candle, and at 12cm tall the holder itself stays low, which suits a dining table set for supper with friends. On a sideboard or a side table it adds a bit of character beside lamps and vases, and on a shelf it sits happily among other ceramics. It suits anyone who loves a dachshund, and it makes a thoughtful present for a dog lover, a birthday or a new home. Because it is so compact, it works in a small flat as well as a large room, and it is just as charming unlit, as a decorative figure in its own right.

It is made entirely of stoneware, a dense ceramic fired at high temperature, which gives the holder a reassuring solidity for its size. The finish is painted by hand, so the stripes and dots carry the marks of the brush rather than the flat look of a print, and the dog has a glossy surface. The candle and other styling props shown are not included. As a styling note, pair it with a tall taper in a plain, soft shade so the dog stays the star, or group it on a tray with one or two other painted pieces for a cheerful little scene.

Specification

Width

8.5cm

Length

7.5cm

Height

12cm

Material

100% Stoneware

Colour

Multi

Finish

Handpainted

Weight

0.32KG

Frequently Asked

What is the Dachsy candle holder made of?

It is made of 100% stoneware, a dense, hard-fired ceramic, and its multicoloured finish is painted by hand.

How big is the candle holder?

It is 7.5cm long, 8.5cm wide and 12cm tall, and it weighs 0.32KG, so it suits a shelf, a side table or a dining table.

What kind of candle does it hold?

It holds a slim dinner candle, the classic tall taper, in the striped tube that stands beside the seated dachshund.

Is a candle included?

No. The candle holder comes on its own, and the candle and other styling props shown are not included.

Is the dotted pattern printed or painted?

It is painted by hand, so the dots on the dog and the stripes on the tube show the marks of the brush.

Can I use it without a candle?

Yes.
