A black lampholder shaped like a small tapered cup, wide at the top where the braided black flex enters and drawn down to the lamp ring at the bottom. The moulding is matt black with a soft satin sheen and carries a fine turned line just above the ring. There is no shade and no shade ring, so whatever lamp is fitted is the whole of what is seen, and the holder is sized to look deliberate rather than temporary. The flex above it is braided in the same black.
