civil-defence-time-rations-round-wall-clock-30cm-brown
Civil Defence Time Rations Round Wall Clock 30cm - Brown

Description

This round wall clock borrows the look of an old Civil Defence notice, with HERE ARE YOUR TIME RATIONS and USE THEM WISELY printed across its face in bold black capitals. Above the slogan sits a crown emblem under an arc of lettering reading Civil Defence Headquarters, and a small upward arrow with the words Civil Defence marks the lower dial. The brown background carries a crackled, aged effect, as though the notice had hung in a village hall for decades. Black Arabic numerals, a ringed minute track and black spade hands keep it easy to read from across the room. It measures 30cm across and 2.5cm deep, a comfortable size for an everyday wall.

We think it sits best where people will catch the joke: above a sideboard in the living room, in a study where the hours really do feel rationed, or in a hallway where everyone glances at the time on the way out. Its slim 2.5cm depth keeps it close to the wall, so it suits a narrow passage as happily as a chimney breast. It makes a thoughtful Father's Day gift for dads with a dry sense of humour and a soft spot for Britain's past, and for anyone who likes a wall piece with a story to it.

On the back, the movement carries a keyhole slot, so the clock hangs from a single picture hook or screw without any fiddly fixings. It runs on AA battery power, and a small wheel on the movement lets you set the hands before you hang it. To keep the face looking its best, dust it now and then with a soft dry cloth and keep it out of damp or steamy spots. Hang it at eye level so the full slogan can be read, and if it is a present, add a card reminding him to use his time rations wisely.

Specification

Colour

Brown

Height

30cm

Width

30cm

Depth

2.5cm

Weight

0.252kg

Battery

AA

Occasion

Father's Day

Frequently Asked

How big is the Time Rations wall clock?

It measures 30cm across and 2.5cm deep, a comfortable size for a living room, study or hallway wall.

What battery does the clock take?

It runs on AA battery power.
