ciampino-glass-pendant-light-black
Ciampino Glass Pendant Light - Black

Description

The Ciampino is a glass pendant light with a rounded, barrel-like shade in smoky grey vaporised glass. It hangs from a fine black cord beneath a round black steel ceiling canopy. The shade is 15cm across and the whole light is 110cm tall overall, a neat, compact size that keeps the glass in proportion with a small table or a narrow hallway. It takes a single E27 bulb of up to 28W, and the bulb is not included, so you choose the colour of light yourself. Its IP20 rating settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms, away from water.

We would hang it above a kitchen island, a dining table or a bedside table, or let it light a landing or hallway where a bare bulb would feel too plain. Hung alone it makes a tidy single drop. Hung in a line of several above a long table, the matching shades give a calm, even rhythm. With the bulb off, the vaporised glass has a mirrored, smoky sheen that picks up the room around it, so the shade still looks considered during the day. The grey and black palette sits easily with dark kitchens, warm timber and plain white walls alike. That makes it an easy choice for a buyer who wants a little drama without a large fitting.

The body is steel in a black finish, paired with the grey vaporised glass shade, and the light weighs 1KG packed. There is no switch on the light itself. It is switched from the wall, so it works with the switch already in the room. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains and, as a wired-in ceiling light, it is installed by a qualified electrician. The installation instructions come as a download. When you buy a bulb, pick an E27 cap at 28W or less, and choose a shape you are happy to see through the tinted glass.

Specification

Overall Height

110cm

Diameter

15cm

Body Material

Steel

Body Colour

Black

Shade Material

Glass vaporized

Shade Colour

Grey

Light Source

E27 (bulb not included)

Wattage

Max 28W

Switch

None (switched at the wall)

IP Rating

IP20

Protection Class

Class II

Voltage

220-240V, 50/60Hz

Weight (packed)

1KG

Downloads

Installation Instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

Can the Ciampino hang in a bathroom?

We would keep it out of bathrooms.
