christmas-countdown-numbered-1-24-candle-37-5cm-red-and-gold
Christmas Countdown Numbered 1-24 Candle 37.5cm - Red & Gold

Description

This tall Christmas countdown candle is a slender deep red cone with the numbers 1 to 24 set down its side in gold, one for each day from the first of December to Christmas Eve. The numbers are debossed into the surface and picked out in gold, so they stay clear and easy to read as the candle burns down. It stands 37.5cm tall and measures 5.5cm across at the base, narrowing to a fine point at the top where number one sits. The red and gold together give it a warm, traditional look that sits happily with classic festive colours.

Light it each evening through December and let it burn down to the next number, and the countdown becomes a small ritual the whole household can look forward to. We like it on a dining table or a kitchen shelf where everyone sees it at teatime, on a mantelpiece, or on a sideboard in the hall where it greets people as they come in. Its height means it holds its own on a long table, while the slim base keeps it from taking up much room on a narrow shelf.

Stand it upright in a candle holder or on a heatproof plate, on a level surface away from draughts, curtains and anything that might catch. Never leave a burning candle unattended, keep it out of the reach of children and pets, and trim the wick before each lighting for a cleaner flame. Between lightings, dust it with a soft dry cloth to keep the gold numbers bright. For a festive table, set it in a plain brass or glass holder beside a bowl of clementines and pine cones. It also makes a thoughtful little present to hand over at the end of November, ready to light on the first of December.

Specification

Colour

red & Gold

Height

37.5cm

Width

5.5cm

Depth

5.5cm

Weight

0.331kg

Frequently Asked

How tall is the Christmas countdown candle?

It stands 37.5cm tall and measures 5.5cm across at the base, tapering to a fine point at the top where the number one sits.

How do I use a countdown candle?

Light it each day from the first of December and let it burn down to the next number before blowing it out, so the gold numbers 1 to 24 mark the days to Christmas Eve.

What colour is the candle?

The candle is a deep red with the numbers 1 to 24 picked out in gold down one side, a warm and traditional pairing for the festive season.

Does it need a candle holder?

We suggest standing it upright in a candle holder or on a heatproof plate, on a level surface away from draughts, curtains and anything that might catch.

How should I look after it?

Dust it with a soft dry cloth between lightings, trim the wick before each use, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
