christening-arched-wooden-framed-plaque-with-cross-white
Christening Arched Wooden Framed Plaque with Cross - White

Description

This arched wooden plaque marks a christening with a gentle, framed cross set into a soft beige recess. The white frame curves over the top like a chapel window. At the centre sits a cream cross with "Christening" written across it in a flowing golden script, with a small lit candle and green leaves painted near its foot. Beneath the cross, a fine gold line holds a tiny silver-toned heart, and below that a short verse is printed in gold capitals: "May this cross bring fond memories of your christening day, and always help inspire you as you follow and grow in the grace of our Lord." Its face measures 17.9cm by 13.9cm, and it is 3.1cm deep.

We think it makes a thoughtful christening gift, one that will be kept long after the cards are put away. The verse speaks straight to the day itself, so it suits a present given at the service, at the party afterwards or in the weeks that follow. At home it settles easily on a bedroom shelf, a dresser or a mantelpiece, where its warm neutral colours sit happily beside wood, linen and other soft tones. It is small enough for a windowsill or a bedside table too.

The frame is wooden with a smooth white finish. The back carries a hanging fitting, so the plaque can go on a wall, and its flat base also lets it stand upright on a shelf. The beige panel is recessed behind the frame's deep edge, which gives the cross and verse a quiet, layered look. To care for it, dust with a soft dry cloth, and if needed wipe the frame gently with a barely damp cloth. For a christening present, we like to add a handwritten card recording the date and the church.

Specification

Material

Wood

Colour

White

Size

17.9 x 13.9cm

Depth

3.1cm

Weight

0.272kg

Occasion

Christening

Frequently Asked

How big is the christening plaque?

Its face measures 17.9cm by 13.9cm and it is 3.1cm deep, a compact size that suits a shelf, dresser or bedside table.

Can the plaque hang on a wall or stand on a shelf?

It can do both.
