A single black stem curves its way upward, and four brass-coloured flowers open along its length among clusters of slender brass-coloured leaves. Each flower is built from layered petals, so it has real depth and catches the light from several angles as you move through the room. It measures 98.5cm tall and 30cm across, a tall, narrow shape for the stretches of wall where a framed picture never quite looks right. As decor it belongs indoors, on a dry wall in the home.

The upright shape works well on the narrow strip of wall between two windows, beside a doorway, along a hallway or in the space above a side table. In a living room it brings warm metal to plain painted walls, and the black stem gives the brass colour a crisp outline against pale paint. Because the vine leans and curves rather than standing straight, it reads as something growing, which softens a room full of hard edges. It suits anyone who wants botanical detail with no watering, and it sits happily alongside brass or gold-toned lamps, frames and side tables.

The whole piece is metal, with the brass colour on the flowers and leaves and black on the main stem. Each leaf sits on its own fine stalk branching from the stem, so the outline stays open and airy rather than solid, and the wall colour shows through between the leaves. At 0.57KG it is light to lift and easy to hold steady while you position it. Before you hang it, measure the space: at 98.5cm tall it needs a generous run of clear wall, so allow room between the top flower and the ceiling, and leave a gap between the lowest leaves and the top of any sofa or sideboard.

Specification

Colour

Brass & Black

Material

Metal

Length

30cm

Width

4cm

Height

98.5cm

Weight

0.57KG

Frequently Asked

Where can the Chikuma wall decoration hang?

It belongs indoors on a dry wall, and its tall, narrow shape suits a strip between windows, a hallway or the space above a side table or sofa.

How big is the Chikuma wall decoration?

It is 98.5cm tall and 30cm across, so it needs a tall, narrow stretch of clear wall rather than a wide one.

What colours are the flowers and stem?

The four flowers and the leaves are a brass colour, and the main stem that carries them is black, giving a crisp two-tone look against pale walls.

What material is the wall decoration?

The whole piece is metal, from the layered petals of each flower to the fine stalks that carry the leaves.

How heavy is the Chikuma?

It weighs 0.57KG, so it is light to lift and easy to hold steady while you position it on the wall.
