cestina-baskets-set-of-2-brown
Cestina Baskets Set of 2 - Brown

Description

This pair of tall woven baskets gives you two sizes of floor storage in one order. The smaller basket is 30cm across and 45cm tall, and the larger is 34cm across and 55cm tall, so both are sized to stand on the floor rather than on a shelf. They are made of 60% polyrattan and 40% iron, in brown, with a chunky, open weave and two looped handles rising from each rim. Polyrattan is a synthetic strand woven in the manner of natural rattan, so you get the look of traditional basketry from a man-made material.

At those heights they earn their place on the floor: beside a sofa for folded throws and spare cushions, at the end of a bed for blankets, in a bedroom or bathroom for laundry and towels, or by the front door for scarves and bags. The weave is open, with gaps that let light pass, so they suit bulky, soft things better than small, loose pieces. They also make a tall holder for dried flowers and long stems. When you need them out of the way, the smaller basket sits inside the larger one, so the pair takes up the space of a single basket.

Seen from the side, each basket tapers gently from its round rim towards the base, a slim outline that fits beside an armchair or at the end of a bookcase without crowding the room. The handles are wrapped in the same woven strand as the body, so they match the rest of the basket and give you something to hold when you carry a full load from room to room. For styling, stand the pair side by side with the taller one at the back, so the two rims sit at different heights, or split them between two rooms: one for blankets in the living room, one for towels in the bathroom.

Specification

Basket 1

Height 45cm, Diameter 30cm

Basket 2

Height 55cm, Diameter 34cm

Sold as

Set of 2

Material

60% Polyrattan, 40% Iron

Colour

Brown

Weight

3.25KG

Frequently Asked

What sizes are the two baskets?

The smaller basket is 30cm across and 45cm tall, and the larger is 34cm across and 55cm tall, so both are floor-standing sizes.

What are the baskets made of?

They are made of 60% polyrattan and 40% iron.
