castrovido-3-light-bathroom-ceiling-light-chrome
Castrovido 3 Light Bathroom Ceiling Light - Chrome

Description

The Castrovido is a three-light bathroom ceiling light: a long oval plate carrying three white globes of matt opal glass, each held in a polished chrome cup. The body is steel in a chrome finish, and the plate reads as a soft silver beside the brighter holders. It measures 58cm long, 13cm wide and 16cm high, which is worth checking against the space above your basin or mirror. Each of the three lights takes a 4.2W G9 lamp and gives 320 lumens. With an IP44 rating it is protected from splashing water, which is what settles it for a bathroom rather than only a dry room.

Bathrooms and en-suites are where it earns its place. Opal glass diffuses light, so the three globes give an even glow without glare, which helps at the mirror and the basin, where hard shadows are least welcome. The long, narrow plate lines up neatly over a vanity unit or along a slim bathroom, and the white glass and chrome sit happily beside white tiles, pale timber and polished taps. If you are replacing a single central light, a run of three spreads the brightness further along the room. In a bathroom, a qualified electrician will confirm the right zone.

There is no switch on the light itself, so it is controlled from your wall switch. It runs on 220-240V mains and carries an energy class of E. Chrome and glass both clean well with a soft, dry cloth, and it is worth letting the lamps cool before you start. The packed weight is 2.288KG. As a wired-in mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download.

Specification

Length

58cm

Width

13cm

Height

16cm

Body Material

Steel

Body Colour

Chrome

Shade Material

Matte-opal glass

Shade Colour

White

Light Source

G9 (bulb included)

Wattage

3 x 4.2W

Lumens

320lm per light (3 lights)

Switch

None (switched at the wall)

IP Rating

IP44

Protection Class

Class II

Voltage

220-240V, 50/60Hz

Energy Class

E

Weight (packed)

2.288KG

Downloads

Installation Instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

Can this ceiling light go in a bathroom?

Yes.
