A dark green shade that flares from a narrow shoulder out to a wide open rim in a shallow bell, held on a short polished chrome arm from a round green wall plate. A ring of small vent holes is punched round the shoulder, and the inside is lined in white so the mouth reads bright against the muted green outside. A knuckle behind the shade lets the head swing and tilt, and a small switch sits on the edge of the plate. The chrome arm is the only bright metal on the fitting. It measures 15cm across.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA wall light earns its place by leaving the surface below it clear. Beside a bed where there is no room for a table lamp, over a work bench, up a stairwell or either side of a mirror, it gives directed light without taking up any space.
