A grey-blue shade that starts as a short straight collar at the top, flares out to a rounded shoulder and then runs down in a straight cone to a wide open rim. A ring of small vent holes is punched round the shoulder, showing as a line of pinpricks when the lamp is lit. The inside is lined in white, so the mouth reads bright against the muted blue outside. A small cap in the same colour closes the top and carries a plain black flex. The finish is a flat chalky matt with no shine anywhere on it. It measures 15cm across.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA shade this small works better in a run of two or three over an island than alone in the middle of a ceiling, where it reads as an accent rather than the main light. Hang it so the bottom of the shade sits about 80cm above the surface, a little higher if people walk beneath it rather than sit under it.
