cargo-outdoor-wall-light-ip64-satin-nickel
Cargo Outdoor Wall Light IP64 - Satin Nickel

Description

The Cargo is a solid brass outdoor wall light finished in satin nickel, a soft, low-sheen silver tone that sits comfortably beside grey render, painted brick or pale stone. Its clear ribbed glass panel is held inside a frame of raised bands, with slim glazed windows top and bottom, so it reads as a piece of ship's hardware rather than an ordinary lantern. It measures 22cm by 16cm, standing 10.5cm from the wall, and at 2.4KG it is a weighty piece of metal. The IP64 rating settles the outdoor question: it is dust-tight and protected from splashing water, so it lives outside through British weather.

Fix it beside a front door, in a porch, on a garden wall or on a boathouse, anywhere a nautical touch suits the building. The maker says its wall lights are meant for an industrial or nautical effect, so it sits as happily on a modern house as on a harbour cottage. The maker describes the Cargo's look as bold and Neo-Classical, and says the maritime influence shows in the materials, designs and even the names of the range. Although it was designed for outdoor use, the maker says it is often chosen for luxury bathrooms; IP64 allows that, and a qualified electrician will confirm the right zone.

It takes a single E27 (ES) lamp of up to 18W, and the lamp is not included, so order one with the light. The cable comes in through a gland at the rear, so the connection sits hidden behind the light rather than running across the wall face. Solid brass does not rust, which matters on a wall that faces the weather. This is a 230V mains light, and it should be installed by a qualified electrician. Buy two if the door is wide: the maker says the Cargo is often supplied in pairs, and a light either side gives a balanced entrance.

Specification

Finish

Satin Nickel

Material

Solid Brass

Diffuser

Clear Ribbed Glass

Lamp

1 x E27 (ES) 18W Max (Lamp Not Included)

IP Rating

IP64

Width

22cm

Length

16cm

Depth

10.5cm

Cable Entry

Cable Gland at the Rear

Weight

2.4KG

Supply

230V ~ 50Hz

Protection Class

Class I

Certification

CE

Manufacturer's Warranty

2 Years

Downloads

Installation Instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

Can the Cargo wall light stay outside in the rain?

Yes.
