It hangs from an arm that runs out from its wall plate and turns down at a right angle. It is made of brass and glass, and it comes in five finishes, Antique Silver, Antique Brass, Natural Brass, Polished Brass and Satin Brass, each with a choice of Clear, Crackled or Frosted glass. Clear glass leaves the bulb in plain view, Crackled glass carries a fine web of cracks through it, and Frosted glass gives a softer, more even glow. The light stands 37cm tall and 10cm wide, and it projects 20cm from the wall.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIt takes one E27 bulb of up to 40W, and bulbs are sold separately. With its IP65 rating, the Carac suits a bathroom, where a pair either side of a mirror works well, as readily as the drier rooms of the house. In a bedroom, one on each side of the bed frees up the bedside tables. In a dining room, a row along one wall gives a gentle wash of light. In a living room, a pair either side of a fireplace frames the chimney breast.
