A wide, very shallow glass dome sitting tight against the ceiling, turned with a twisted flute so broad ribs sweep out from an off-centre crown in a slow spiral across the whole face. The glass is a soft olive green, thick and evenly diffusing, so the ribs show as bands of shading rather than as edges. The rim turns down at the outer edge with no visible trim. It is much wider than it is deep and reads as a shell laid against the plaster. It measures 20cm across and the same in height, in glass and metal.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMounted flush it clears a doorway and a low ceiling, so a corridor, a landing or a small bedroom is its territory, and it lights the whole room evenly rather than pooling on one surface.
