cabu-plain-polyester-cushion-dark-chocolate
Cabu Plain Polyester Cushion - Dark Chocolate

Description

The Cabu cushion is a plain, chunky boucle in a deep dark chocolate brown, and the texture is the whole point of it. Look closely at the surface and you can see the tight, looped pile that gives boucle its name, a dense field of little curls that catches the light unevenly and reads as soft before you have even touched it. It is made from 100% polyester, and the front comes in a square 45 x 45cm, with a larger 55 x 55cm in the same range if you want a fuller cushion for a deeper sofa. There is no pattern to line up and no directional print to worry about, so it works whichever way round you drop it.

This is a cushion for a sofa or an armchair you actually sit in, rather than one that only gets looked at. The dark chocolate tone is a grounding, quiet brown that sits happily against cream, oatmeal, rust and warm neutral walls, and the boucle texture does the work that a bold colour might otherwise do, adding depth to a room without shouting. It suits a relaxed, pared-back scheme, and it mixes well with smoother weaves and flat linens, where the contrast in texture is what makes the grouping look considered.

The cover is boucle throughout, and being a looped pile it will feel warm and cushioning under the hand and hold its shape well between seatings. A zip closure runs along one edge, so the cover comes off for cleaning and goes back on with the fill sitting square. As a plain, texture-led piece it is easy to build a group around, whether you pair two of the 45cm squares or set one against the larger 55cm size for a layered look on a bigger seat.

Specification

Material

100% Polyester

Design

Plain, chunky boucle

Construction

Boucle weave, zip closure

Size

45 x 45cm to 55 x 55cm

Frequently Asked

What is boucle and how does it feel?

Boucle is a looped-pile fabric, so the surface is made of small curls that feel soft, springy and warm under the hand rather than flat and smooth.

Does the cover come off for cleaning?

Yes, there is a zip closure along one edge, so you can slide the cover off the inner pad and refit it easily once you have finished cleaning it.

What sizes does the Cabu cushion come in?

It comes as a 45 x 45cm square and a larger 55 x 55cm square, so you can match the size to the depth of your sofa or armchair.

Will it show a pattern or a right way up?

No, it is a plain cushion with an even boucle texture and no print, so there is no pattern to line up and no correct orientation to fuss over.

What colours does it sit well with?

The dark chocolate brown works with cream, oatmeal, rust and warm neutral walls, and the texture adds depth alongside smoother weaves and flat linens.
