byron-stoneware-candle-holder-cream
Byron Stoneware Candle Holder - Cream

Description

Byron is a small stoneware candle holder with a character all its own: a squat, rounded body that bulges a little unevenly, a narrow neck and a wide, flared lip around the candle opening. It is cream all over, scattered with round spots in a darker, warmer shade that sit at random across the body and neck. At 10.5cm across and 10cm tall it is a compact piece, and being 100% stoneware it weighs 0.34KG, so it has a reassuring heft in the hand rather than feeling light or hollow.

It takes a single taper candle, which makes it a natural fit for a side table, a mantelpiece, a sideboard or the top of a bookcase, anywhere a slim flame and a little organic texture will sit well. Because it is low and wide, the candle rises well clear of its rounded shoulders, and the piece looks just as good unlit, as a small sculptural object among books and plants. It suits anyone who likes a relaxed, lived-in home, and it makes a thoughtful small gift for a housewarming or a birthday.

The body is stoneware throughout, finished in a reactive glaze. Reactive glazes move and pool as they fire, so the surface varies slightly from one piece to the next, and yours will be its own. A fine speckle runs through the cream and keeps it from looking flat, while the gently dimpled body catches candlelight in soft, uneven shadows. The candle and the other styling props shown are not included. For styling, pair it with a plain taper in a pale shade to keep the look calm, or group it with other stoneware pieces of varied heights so its squat shape anchors the arrangement.

Specification

Height

10cm

Diameter

10.5cm

Material

100% Stoneware

Colour

Cream

Finish

Reactive glaze

Weight

0.34KG

Frequently Asked

What is the candle holder made of?

It is made of 100% stoneware and finished in a reactive glaze, which gives it a speckled cream surface scattered with darker round spots.

How big is it?

It is 10.5cm across and 10cm tall, a compact size for a side table, shelf or mantelpiece, and it weighs 0.34KG.

What kind of candle does it take?

It holds a single slim taper candle, set into the opening at the top of its narrow, flared neck.

Does it come with a candle?

No. You receive the stoneware candle holder alone; the candle and the other styling props shown are not included.

Will mine look exactly like this one?

Not exactly.
