It is a novelty piece first and a practical one second, and it does both jobs at once. The outer is 100% polyester, so the pile stays soft to the touch while shrugging off the knocks a floor-level object takes. The face is worth a closer look: a heart-shaped black nose, glassy amber eyes and the folded jowls a bulldog is known for, all of which give it far more character than a plain wedge or sack.

A door stop lives where it works, which for this one is the hallway, the living room or a bedroom where a door swings shut on a draught. Because it reads as an ornament rather than a tool, it earns its place in a room you actually spend time in, rather than being hidden behind the door. It suits a home that likes a bit of warmth and humour in its accessories, and the muted brown coat sits happily against most floors and skirting, whether painted white or left as natural wood.

The weight comes from an interior filled with polyester and sand, which is what lets a soft object hold a door firmly against a breeze. That combination of a plush exterior and a heavy, settled base is the whole point: it feels friendly to pick up and move, yet stays put once set down. The cream scarf is a fixed detail rather than a removable accessory, so what you see is what you get. As a standalone accent it needs nothing else to work, and it makes an easy gift for anyone who takes to a dog with a face like this one.

Specification

Material

Outer: 100% polyester, Filling: 100% polyester & sand

Design

Bulldog shape with cream scarf

Construction

Faux fur exterior, weighted sand and fibre filling

Sold as

Single door stop

Colour

Brown

Frequently Asked

What makes this door stop heavy enough to hold a door?

The interior is filled with a mix of polyester fibre and sand, and it is the sand that gives it the settled weight needed to hold a door against a draught.

What is the outer made from?

The exterior is 100% polyester faux fur, which is what gives it that soft pile while keeping the surface robust enough for a floor-level object.

Is the scarf removable?

The cream scarf is part of the design rather than a separate accessory, so it stays tied around the neck as shown in the photographs.

Where does it work best in the home?

It suits any internal door you want propped open, and because it reads as an ornament it works well on show in a hallway, living room or bedroom.

Is it a single item or a set?

It is sold as one door stop on its own, ready to use straight away with nothing to assemble or add.
