brenta-stoneware-cup-saucer-185ml-set-of-4-grey
Brenta Stoneware Cup & Saucer 185ml Set of 4 - Grey

Description

This is a set of four stoneware cups, each with its own saucer, in a soft grey. The cup has a rounded body that curves in towards a narrower base and a neat loop handle, and a fine speckle runs through the glaze. Each holds 185ml, which makes it a cup for coffee or tea rather than a mug, a size that suits a morning coffee or a pot of tea poured out between friends. The cup is 8cm across and 7cm tall; the saucer is 11cm across and 2cm tall, a shallow round dish with a gently raised rim.

Four cups and four saucers lay a small table in one go, whether that is breakfast for the household, coffee after Sunday lunch or a slow afternoon tea in the kitchen or dining room. The cup sits comfortably in one hand on its saucer, so it is easy to carry from the kettle to the sofa, and the saucer gives a teaspoon or a biscuit somewhere to rest. They suit anyone who prefers a smaller, more considered cup to a big mug, and because the grey is quiet they sit happily beside plain or earthy tableware already in the cupboard.

Stoneware is fired to a hard, dense body and holds heat well, a good quality in a cup for everyday use. The glaze shifts in tone, paler near the rim and deeper towards the base, and the inside is glazed to a glossy finish. All four cups and saucers go in the dishwasher, the microwave and the oven, so you can warm the cups in a low oven before pouring, or reheat a coffee left to cool without tipping it into something else. For an easy, settled look between uses, line them up on an open kitchen shelf, each cup on its saucer, where the glaze catches the light.

Specification

Cup

Height 7cm, Diameter 8cm

Saucer

Height 2cm, Diameter 11cm

Sold as

Set of 4

Material

100% Stoneware

Colour

Grey

Capacity

185ml

Dishwasher safe

Yes

Microwave safe

Yes

Oven safe

Yes

Food safe

Yes

Weight

1.52KG

Frequently Asked

How much does each cup hold?

Each cup holds 185ml, which is a coffee or tea cup size rather than a mug, so it suits a smaller, slower drink.

Can the cups and saucers go in the dishwasher?

Yes.
