bowen-wooden-candle-holder-black
Bowen Wooden Candle Holder - Black

Description

This is a black wooden candle holder, 22cm tall and 11cm across, built up from a stack of rounded forms: a deep bowl at the top, a drum through the middle, a narrow disc and a broad, flared foot. It is made of pine and iron, with a shallow metal cup set into the top to take a pillar candle. The grain of the pine still shows through the black finish, so it reads plainly as wood, and at 0.74KG it has a reassuring weight in the hand.

At 22cm tall it sits comfortably on a sideboard, a mantelpiece, a windowsill or the middle of a dining table, high enough to lift a candle clear of books and small objects without blocking the view across the table. In a pale room the black gives a strong, dark accent; in a darker room it becomes a quiet, soft-edged shape. It suits anyone who likes sculptural pieces that still do a plain, useful job, and it makes a considered housewarming gift or winter birthday present.

The surface is finished with a water-based lacquer, which keeps the black even while leaving the texture of the wood visible. Pine is a softwood and can dent if knocked against something hard. The holder comes on its own: the candles and other styling props shown are not included, so choose a pillar that sits neatly in the metal cup. For an easy arrangement, set two side by side on a windowsill or one at each end of a mantelpiece, and pick a tall pillar candle, which shows off the stacked profile best.

Specification

Height

22cm

Diameter

11cm

Material

Pine, Iron

Colour

Black

Finish

Water based lacquer surface

Weight

0.74KG

Frequently Asked

What material is the Bowen candle holder?

It is made of pine and iron.
