A black half-sphere dome on a slim black stem, the dome a clean hemisphere with its rim cut square and left open. The stem drops straight from the centre of the dome to a flat round black disc base, and a small turned brass cone sits where the stem meets the base, the only warm note on the lamp. The black is a soft even matt on the dome, the stem and the base alike, so the form reads as one piece. The dome is wide relative to the stem, which gives the lamp a mushroom outline. Nothing is polished and no fixing is visible. It measures 16cm across and 25cm tall, in metal.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is a lamp for a side table, a desk or a bedside, close enough to reach the switch from where you sit, and it lights the surface it stands on rather than the whole room.
