bog-oak-ceramic-ceiling-light-blue-earth
Bog Oak Ceramic Ceiling Light - Blue Earth

Description

The Bog Oak ceramic ceiling light is a flush fitting with a single exposed lampholder and a flat disc of glazed ceramic set just beneath a round ceiling plate. The glaze is Blue Earth, a cool, weathered blue with cloudy variation across its surface and a softly uneven edge. It is 10cm tall and 28cm across. The metalwork is brass, and it comes in Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Matt Black, Polished Brass, Polished Copper or Satin Brass, with the Matt Black in RAL 9005. Bulbs are sold separately: it takes one E27 bulb of up to 40W, and because the bulb hangs in full view beneath the disc, the one you pick shapes the look.

Because it sits close to the ceiling, it suits rooms where a pendant would hang too low: a hallway, a landing, a bedroom or a study with a modest ceiling height. A few in a line work well along a corridor, and a single one gives a small room a focal point without crowding it. It suits anyone who likes the plainness of a bare bulb but wants colour and texture around it, and the Blue Earth glaze sits easily with painted walls, natural wood and stone. Choose a polished finish for a brighter, crisper look, or Antique Brass, Antique Silver or Matt Black for something quieter. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only.

The Bog Oak pairs brass metalwork with a glazed ceramic disc, and every light is made to order in Ireland. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase; bulbs are not covered. It is wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician, so book one when you plan where it will go, and pick your bulb at the same time so the light is ready the day it goes up. Our photographs show the Matt Black, Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Polished Brass, Polished Copper and Satin Brass finishes.

Specification

Finish

Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Matt Black, Polished Brass, Polished Copper & Satin Brass

Glaze

Blue Earth

Paint Colours (RAL)

Matt Black RAL 9005

Material

Brass & Ceramic

Height

10cm

Diameter

28cm

Light Source

1 x E27 (bulb not included)

Max Bulb Wattage

40W per bulb

IP Rating

IP20

Protection Class

Class I

Warranty

5 years (manufacturer)

Lead time

Made to order, usually delivered in 5 to 7 weeks

Frequently Asked

What bulb does the Bog Oak ceiling light take?

It takes one E27 bulb of up to 40W.
