It hangs flat, 3cm deep, on two brackets fixed at the top of the frame. The stitched bands sit in the middle of the panel with a broad margin of bare linen around them.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe stitching draws on traditional Indian Brahmic script, reworked as texture rather than as words. Each cotton thread is worked onto the linen by hand, so the strokes vary from panel to panel and no two are the same. The frame is mango wood.
