bibiola-wall-shelf-blue
Bibiola Wall Shelf - Blue

Description

Our Bibiola wall shelf is two blue boards held apart by four turned posts, each shaped into a run of soft, rounded swells like a stack of beads. It is 80cm long, 20cm wide and 26cm tall, so it reads as a long, low piece on the wall rather than a tall bookcase, and it gives you two levels to fill. The posts are painted in a contrasting shade, which puts their wavy outline front and centre. The shelf is made from 70% MDF and 30% firwood and weighs 4.53KG.

We list it with our kids bookcases, and a child's bedroom, nursery or playroom is where it feels most at home. At 80cm long it spans the wall above a desk, a chest of drawers or a reading chair without crowding it. The 20cm depth takes picture books laid in a pile, a wooden toy or two and the small treasures children like to keep in sight, while the top board makes a ledge for a few favourite pieces. Because it is shallow, it sits close to the wall and leaves the floor below clear for a toy box or a beanbag.

Both the boards and the posts are finished in water-based paint, with an even, matt surface. MDF is a smooth, stable board that takes paint well, and fir is a light softwood. Keyhole hanging plates sit at the back of the top board so the shelf can hang close to the wall, and the maker's assembly instructions come as a PDF download. For styling, keep the lower level for the books a child reaches for most and give the top board a couple of lighter pieces, so the posts stay in view.

Specification

Width

80cm

Depth

20cm

Height

26cm

Material

70% MDF, 30% Firwood

Colour

Blue

Finish

Water based paint

Weight

4.53KG

Downloads

Assembly instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

What is the Bibiola wall shelf made from?

It is made from 70% MDF and 30% firwood, finished in water-based paint, and the whole shelf weighs 4.53KG.

How big is the shelf?

It is 80cm long, 20cm wide and 26cm tall, with two boards giving you two levels for books, toys and keepsakes.

How does the shelf hang on the wall?

Keyhole hanging plates sit at the back of the top board, and the maker's assembly instructions come as a PDF download.
