betino-floral-stoneware-plant-pot-brown
Betino Floral Stoneware Plant Pot - Brown

Description

This is a plant pot in brown stoneware, decorated with a band of flowers and leaves that sweeps diagonally across its side. The blooms are picked out in a lighter tone with spiky centres, so the pattern stands out clearly against the brown body. It measures 19cm across and 17cm tall, a medium size for a houseplant that has outgrown a small pot but does not yet need a floor planter. It weighs 1.41KG empty, which tells you something useful: this is a solid pot with real weight to it, not a thin shell.

Its size makes it a natural fit for a windowsill, a sideboard, a bookshelf with room overhead or the corner of a desk. A trailing pothos, a peace lily or a small fern would all look at home in it, and the floral band gives even a plain green plant a lively backdrop. Stoneware copes well with humidity, so it can stand happily in a bathroom, where a fern thrives in the steam. It makes a thoughtful housewarming gift for anyone who keeps plants, and it works just as well left empty on a shelf for the sake of its pattern.

The pot is 100% stoneware, a dense clay fired at high temperature, which accounts for its weight and gives it a reassuring solidity. It has a straight rim, a body that curves in gently towards the base and a narrow foot, and the decoration has a loose, sketched quality that keeps it from feeling fussy. The maker does not say whether it has a drainage hole, so we would keep a plant in its plastic nursery pot and lower the whole thing into this one. For styling, glossy dark green leaves contrast well with the brown, and a pale wooden shelf lets the flowers read clearly.

Specification

Height

17cm

Diameter

19cm

Material

100% Stoneware

Colour

Brown

Weight

1.41KG

Frequently Asked

What is the plant pot made of?

It is made of 100% stoneware, a dense fired clay that gives the pot a solid, weighty feel on a shelf or sill.

How big is the pot?

It measures 19cm across and 17cm tall, a medium size suited to a houseplant that has outgrown a small starter pot.

How heavy is it?

It weighs 1.41KG empty, so it has real heft on a shelf or sill even before you add soil and a plant.

Is the floral pattern part of the pot itself?

Yes.
