berny-water-hyacinth-baskets-with-lids-set-of-2-natural
Berny Water Hyacinth Baskets with Lids Set of 2 - Natural

Description

This is a set of two lidded storage baskets in braided water hyacinth with iron, each one shaped as a sleepy bear. Stitched closed eyes, a round nose and a small smile sit on the front of each basket, and each lid rises into two little woven ears. The larger basket is 46cm across and 50cm tall, with a rounded, full body; the smaller is 32cm across and 43cm tall, with straighter sides. Both come in a natural tone that sits easily beside wood, linen and other woven pieces.

These are kids storage baskets with real room inside, so they suit a nursery, a child's bedroom or a playroom where soft toys, building blocks, dressing-up clothes and spare blankets need a place. With the lids on, the clutter is out of sight and the two bears read as friendly faces in the room rather than storage. Use the pair side by side, or split them: the larger one beside the bed for teddies and blankets, the smaller one next to a bookcase for books and puzzles. A family living room where toys gather by the sofa suits them just as well.

Each basket is braided from water hyacinth, a plant fibre with a chunky, rope-like texture, and iron forms part of the construction alongside it. Because water hyacinth is a natural material, the tone and the twist of the weave vary a little from one basket to the next, which is part of the charm. The maker gives the weight as 3.8KG, so the pair is easy to carry between rooms as play moves around the house. For styling, stand the larger bear slightly ahead with the smaller one tucked beside it on a soft rug, and let the woven ears peep out from the corner of the room.

Specification

Basket 1

Height 50cm, Diameter 46cm

Basket 2

Height 43cm, Diameter 32cm

Sold as

Set of 2

Material

Water Hyacinth, Iron

Colour

Natural

Finish

Braided water hyacinth

Weight

3.8KG

Frequently Asked

What are the baskets made of?

They are made from braided water hyacinth, a plant fibre with a chunky woven texture, with iron used in the construction as well.

How big are the two baskets?

The larger basket is 46cm across and 50cm tall, and the smaller one is 32cm across and 43cm tall, so both are generous floor-standing sizes.

Do both baskets come with lids?

Yes.
