belivia-bouquet-stoneware-vase-28-5cm-blue
Belivia Bouquet Stoneware Vase 28.5cm - Blue

Description

This stoneware vase is shaped like a bouquet wrapped in paper and tied with a ribbon. Its rim rises and dips in soft, petal-like waves, the sides fall in loose folds just as wrapping does, and a glossy polka-dot bow circles the narrow waist near the base in a deeper blue than the body. The speckled blue glaze across the surface gives the stoneware a gentle, mottled depth. It is 28.5cm tall and 19.5cm across, and at 1.35KG it has a reassuring weight in the hand.

Its height suits a full bunch of mid-length stems: hydrangea heads, garden roses, or a loose gathering of grasses and seed heads. We like it on a dining table, where it makes a centrepiece that needs fewer flowers to look generous, because the wrapped shape already reads as a bouquet. It sits just as happily on a sideboard, a hall console or a bedroom chest of drawers. As a present for a birthday, a housewarming or Mother's Day it does double duty: a gift of flowers that keeps its bow long after the last stem has faded. Even empty, the folds and the bow give it enough character to stand alone on a shelf.

The finish is a reactive glaze, and the vase is handpainted. Reactive glazes move and pool as they fire, so the speckle and the depth of colour settle a little differently on every piece, and no two are quite the same. The bow stands proud of the body and catches the light, which gives the vase a clear front; turn it towards the room when you place it. Our styling tip: let the stems spill over the wavy rim rather than standing stiffly upright, so the look of a just-wrapped bouquet holds from rim to base, and keep the surroundings plain, with linen or pale wood, so the blue and the bow lead the eye.

Specification

Height

28.5cm

Diameter

19.5cm

Material

100% Stoneware

Colour

Blue

Finish

Reactive glaze, Handpainted

Weight

1.35KG

Frequently Asked

What is the vase made from?

It is made from 100% stoneware, finished in a speckled blue reactive glaze and handpainted, with a glossy polka-dot bow around the base.

How big is the vase?

It stands 28.5cm tall and measures 19.5cm across, a good size for a full bunch of mid-length stems on a table or sideboard.

How heavy is it?

It weighs 1.35KG, so it feels solid in the hand and suits a generous arrangement of flowers or dried stems.

Is every vase identical?

Not quite.
