A plain opal dome, low and broad, closed at its edge by a thin white rim that barely stands proud of the glass. The dome is a smooth continuous curve with no ribs, no pattern and nothing printed on it, and it reads as an even white disc from the floor. The opal is thick enough that no lamp shows through as a point anywhere on the face. The rim is the only other element and it is white too, so the whole fitting is one tone. It sits tight against the ceiling and the face is what the room sees. It measures 29cm across.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMounted flush it clears a doorway and a low ceiling, so a corridor, a landing or a small bedroom is its territory, and it lights the whole room evenly rather than pooling on one surface.
