baba-recycled-glass-lamp-base-burnt-amber-small-tall
Baba Small Tall Recycled Glass Lamp Base - Burnt Amber

Description

The small tall Baba in burnt amber is the narrow teardrop, 38.5cm high and 17cm across at the widest, drawing in to a neck at the top. The glass is a strong orange amber, deepest through the lower body where the wall is thickest and clearing towards the neck, and the hammered surface breaks it into facets that hold the colour unevenly. A chrome collar caps the neck and carries a black lampholder with a shade ring. The cord is rust coloured, runs 2.5m, and carries an on and off switch along its length.

This is a base only: no shade and no bulb. At 17cm across it is the narrowest base in the range, which suits a bedside table where the surface is already busy, and the switch on the cord matters most on a lamp reached from a bed. Lit, the amber throws warm colour onto the wall behind it as well as onto the table. It takes an E27 bulb, the plug is UK and EU, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

The glass is recycled and hand blown into a mould, then hammered while still molten, so the facets and the depth of the amber differ from one base to the next. The collar and stem are chrome. The Baba range runs to eleven lamp bases in clear, green and burnt amber, in tall and wide shapes and in two sizes. Neither a shade nor a bulb is included.

Specification

Height

38.5cm

Diameter

17cm

Material

Glass

Colour

Burnt Amber

Recommended bulb

E27

Cord length

2.5m

Plug type

UK & EU

IP Rating

IP20

Weight

1.44kg

Frequently Asked

Does it come with a shade?

No. It is the base only, with a black lampholder and a shade ring on top.
