baba-recycled-glass-lamp-base-burnt-amber-large-tall
Baba Large Tall Recycled Glass Lamp Base - Burnt Amber

Description

The large tall Baba in burnt amber is the teardrop at full size, 50cm high and 24cm across at the widest, narrowing to a neck at the top. The amber runs deepest low down where the glass is thickest and thins as the body rises, so the colour has a gradient built into the shape. The hammered facets catch light along the whole of it. A chrome collar caps the neck and carries a black lampholder with a shade ring, and the rust coloured cord carries a switch along its length.

This is a base only: no shade and no bulb. At 50cm it is the tallest base in the range, which puts the shade at standing eye level on a console and makes it the one for an entrance hall or the end of a sideboard rather than a bedside table. Lit, the amber throws warm colour up the wall behind it. It takes an E27 bulb, the cord runs 2.5m, the plug is UK and EU, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

The glass is recycled and hand blown into a mould, then hammered while still molten, so the facets and the depth of the amber differ from one base to the next. The collar and stem are chrome. The Baba range runs to eleven lamp bases in clear, green and burnt amber, in tall and wide shapes and in two sizes. Neither a shade nor a bulb is included.

Specification

Height

50cm

Diameter

24cm

Material

Glass

Colour

Burnt Amber

Recommended bulb

E27

Cord length

2.5m

Plug type

UK & EU

IP Rating

IP20

Weight

2.15kg

Frequently Asked

Does it come with a shade?

No. It is the base only, with a black lampholder and a shade ring on top.
