A slim brushed brass stem rises from a shallow domed round base and arcs over at the top like a crook, ending in a small bell shaped head that points down. The head is compact and rounded rather than wide, so the light leaves it as a fairly tight column. A sleeve about a third of the way up the stem marks where it telescopes, and the height is set by hand, with no tools and nothing to unscrew. The head tilts and turns on its joint, and a small switch sits at the back of it where it meets the arm.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is a reading lamp first.
