The seat is upholstered in a natural linen, stitched by hand. The legs are slim and square-tapered, with a stretcher down each side and a flat footrest across the front, set lower than the stretchers.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe seat is 70cm from the floor and the stool stands 96cm to the top of the rail, which is counter height rather than bar height. It takes up 54 by 52cm of floor, so two will sit along a 1.2m run of island with room left between them. The curved rail rises 26cm above the seat, which is a back to lean on rather than one to rest a head against. One draws up to an island with the back turned into the room.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe frame is acacia, a hard wood with a high oil content and a grain that runs from light amber through to dark mahogany within the same piece, so the walnut stain sits differently on one stool than on the next and deepens with age.
