amanita-abstract-velvet-door-stop-green
Amanita Abstract Velvet Door Stop - Green

Description

The Amanita door stop is a printed velvet weight covered in a hand-drawn world of mushrooms and toadstools. Against a deep forest-green ground, clusters of pink, coral, gold, blue and rust fungi rise in every direction, from tiny pink caps huddled at the base to a bold red-and-white bloom at the centre. It is a single size, roughly a soft upright block that stands taller than it is wide, with a matching velvet storage handle sewn to the top so you can lift and reposition it in one hand.

A door stop earns its place by staying put, and this one is built to do exactly that. It suits a bedroom, living room, study or hallway, anywhere a door swings shut on its own or drifts in a draught. The green base sits happily against wood, painted walls and houseplants, and the busy botanical print gives a plain room something to look at without asking for a particular scheme. It works as well holding a wardrobe open as it does propping the door to a child's room.

The cover is polyester velvet, soft to the touch and hard-wearing, printed all over with the fungi design and finished with the same velvet on the reverse. Inside, a polyester and sand fill gives it the heft a working door stop needs, which is why it holds a heavier door where a lighter one would slide. The looped handle up top doubles as somewhere to hang it out of the way. If you like the print, the Amanita range extends to a draught excluder, cushion and duvet set, so you can carry the mushroom design through a room.

Specification

Material

100% polyester

Design

Abstract printed mushroom and fungi design, green ground

Construction

Velvet cover and velvet reverse, polyester and sand filled, storage handle

Size

One size

Weight

1.40kg

Country of origin

China

Frequently Asked

What is the cover made from?

The cover is 100% polyester velvet, which is soft underfoot and hard-wearing, printed with the mushroom design on the front and finished with velvet on the reverse.

Why is it so heavy?

It is filled with polyester and sand, and the sand gives it the weight it needs to hold a door open against a draught rather than sliding across the floor.

How big is it?

It comes in one size and weighs 1.40kg, a soft upright block that stands taller than it is wide, small enough to tuck beside most doors.

What is the handle for?

The velvet loop on top lets you lift and move the door stop in one hand, and it doubles as a way to hang it out of the way when it is not in use.

Will it match the rest of the Amanita range?

Yes, the same mushroom print runs across the Amanita draught excluder, cushion and duvet set, so you can coordinate the design through a room.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0729/8993/3835/files/riva-amanita_dst_gre-0-srcbase_7400cdbf-f745-4a0f-ab2e-d9d111f3433e.jpg?v=1787212118
