alice-in-wonderland-tea-caddy-stoneware-storage-jar-light-blue
Alice in Wonderland Tea Caddy Stoneware Storage Jar - Light Blue

Description

This stoneware storage jar makes a charming tea caddy for the kitchen, glazed in a soft light blue and drawn all the way round with scenes from Alice in Wonderland. Alice stands at the front beneath the printed words "TEA Anyone?", with the White Rabbit raising his trumpet, the Queen of Hearts, the Mad Hatter and a scattering of pansies, lilies, roses and a butterfly in a fine sketched style. The lid is raised with cream roses and trailing leaves and topped with a round ring knob, and two scrolled handles sit at the sides. It stands 12.5cm tall and 10cm deep and holds 480ml.

A jar that holds 480ml keeps a good supply of tea bags close to the kettle, so the cardboard box can go in the recycling and the worktop looks tidier for it. At 12.5cm tall it takes little room on a kitchen counter, a dresser shelf or a tea tray, and the two handles make it easy to carry to the table when friends come round for a pot. It suits a pale blue or cottage-style kitchen, and if tea is not your drink it works just as well for coffee pods or hot chocolate sachets.

The jar is made from stoneware with a glazed finish, which gives it a smooth, gentle sheen and lets the cream roses on the lid stand out against the blue. The lid lifts off by its ring knob and simply rests on the rim. For everyday care, wipe it with a soft damp cloth and dry it straight away, and carry it by its handles rather than the lid, as with any lidded ceramic. Stand it beside your teapot or on an open shelf where the illustrations can be enjoyed from every side, and it makes a lovely present wrapped with a box of favourite tea.

Specification

Material

Stoneware

Colour

Light blue

Finish

Glazed

Height

12.5cm

Depth

10cm

Weight

0.482kg

Capacity

480ml

Frequently Asked

How big is the tea caddy and how much does it hold?

It stands 12.5cm tall and 10cm deep and holds 480ml, which keeps a good supply of tea bags to hand on the worktop.

What is the storage jar made of?

The jar and its lid are made from stoneware with a glazed light blue finish, and the roses on the lid are raised and picked out in cream.

Which characters are on the jar?

Alice is at the front under the words "TEA Anyone?", with the White Rabbit, the Queen of Hearts and the Mad Hatter drawn around the sides among flowers and a butterfly.

Does it come with a lid?

Yes, it comes with a lid decorated with raised cream roses and leaves, topped with a ring knob that makes it easy to lift off.

How should I clean it?

We suggest wiping it with a soft damp cloth and drying it straight away, which is good everyday care for glazed stoneware.
