aikito-star-christmas-tree-decorations-set-of-2-clear
Aikito Star Christmas Tree Decorations Set of 2 - Clear

Description

Our Aikito stars are a set of two clear Christmas decorations, each a five-pointed star folded from polyethylene terephthalate, the light, clear plastic often called PET. The two come in different sizes: the smaller is 28cm long and 28cm tall, the larger 38cm long and 38cm tall, so they read as a pair rather than twins. Each point is creased into ridges that run out from the centre, which gives the stars depth and lets them catch light from several angles. The plated finish throws a shifting sheen across the clear film, so the shimmer moves as you walk past.

At these sizes they suit bigger spaces than a tree branch: hang them in a window where daylight comes through, over a mantelpiece, in a stairwell or above the dining table at Christmas. Hung at slightly different heights, the larger and smaller star make a simple, balanced display, and because the film is clear they sit happily against painted walls, wood panelling or a dark window at night. They suit anyone who likes a festive room that feels light rather than crowded, and they work as well in a hallway or a bedroom as in the living room.

Polyethylene terephthalate is a stiff film that holds a crease, which is how the folded points keep their crisp shape, and the plated finish is what gives the clear surface its sheen. The weight is given as 0.02KG, so a small hook, a pin or a fine thread holds them easily. For the most shimmer, place them where they catch a lamp or low winter sun, and pair them with paper stars or plain greenery so their sheen does the work. The styling props shown are not included.

Specification

Decoration 1

Length 28cm, Height 28cm

Decoration 2

Length 38cm, Height 38cm

Sold as

Set of 2

Material

Polyethylene terephthalate

Colour

Clear

Finish

Plating

Weight

0.02KG

Frequently Asked

What are the stars made of?

They are made from polyethylene terephthalate, a light, clear plastic often called PET, with a plated finish that gives the film its shifting sheen.

How big are the two stars?

The smaller star is 28cm long and 28cm tall, and the larger is 38cm long and 38cm tall, which makes them better suited to windows, walls and mantelpieces than to a tree branch.

How many decorations come in the set?

The set holds two stars, one in each size, both clear and both with the same plated finish, so they hang well together as a pair.

What colour are the stars?

They are clear, and the plated finish adds a sheen that changes as the light and your viewing angle change, so they shimmer rather than show one flat tone.

How heavy are they?

The weight is given as 0.02KG, so they are light enough to hang from a small hook, a pin or a fine thread without strain.

Where do they look best?

A window, a mantelpiece, a stairwell or the space above a dining table all suit them, because the clear film lets daylight and lamplight pass through and catch the plated sheen.
