agnes-bamboo-lamp-shade-multi
Agnes Bamboo Lamp Shade - Multi

Description

Agnes is a round drum lamp shade that brings a small, cheerful world into a child's room. Its printed outer face is scattered with birds in flight, pears, round fruit, lemons, bees, rainbows, a sunburst and a spotted toadstool, framed by a narrow band at the top rim and another at the bottom. It is made from bamboo, iron, cotton and polyester, and the overall look is multicoloured without being loud. At 34cm across and 20cm tall it is a comfortable middle size for a bedroom or nursery ceiling, wide enough to read as a feature yet never overpowering.

We see it as kids lighting with a little storytelling woven through it: every motif is something to spot and name at bedtime, from the bee to the rainbow. Hung from a ceiling pendant, it sits well over a bed or in the middle of a nursery, and because the pattern runs all the way round the drum it looks just as good from every side of the room. The illustrations are simple and gentle rather than cartoonish, so the shade suits a room that changes as its owner grows, from a baby's nursery to a schoolchild's bedroom, and it would sit just as happily in a playroom.

Inside, a slatted lining wraps the full height of the drum, and a slim wire frame runs from the rim to a central ring at the top, the part that seats the shade on the lamp holder. The shade weighs 0.4KG. The maker's assembly instructions come as a PDF download, so you have each step to hand before you start. For styling, keep the rest of the room calm: plain bedding, woven baskets and natural wood let the little motifs do the talking, and a soft rug on the floor ties the room together.

Specification

Height

20cm

Diameter

34cm

Material

Bamboo, Iron, Cotton, Polyester

Colour

Multi

Weight

0.4KG

Downloads

Assembly instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

What materials does the Agnes lamp shade use?

It is made from bamboo, iron, cotton and polyester.
