The body rises from a narrow foot, swells out to a broad shoulder and then draws in again to a short rolled collar at the rim. The surface is mottled rather than even, grey running over patches of ochre and a pale mineral bloom, and the wall carries the faint horizontal ridges of the coils it was built from.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAt 49cm this stands on the ground rather than on a table. A larger pot is made in the same range. It suits a doorway, the corner of a patio or the turn of a path. There are holes in the base for drainage, so it can be planted into directly rather than used to hold a nursery pot inside it.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe pot is clay, built by hand in Vietnam using traditional coiling, and nothing is applied over it. The raw surface takes its tone unevenly, so the grey runs lighter and darker across one pot and no two are alike.
